Factor Factory

Welcome to the factory! Hop along the belt, press tiles into rectangles, sort primes from composites, crack the Locker Problem, and line up the gears. Then power up the Mega-Bot. Each station matches lessons from class.

How a round works

Each station deals 8 fresh problems (the Mega-Bot deals 10). A right answer on the first try earns 10 points. After a wrong answer, the game names the likely mistake and gives one more try for 5 points. On the Mega-Bot, each right answer charges one of its 10 battery cells.

The "Show me" hint

Hints use the pictures from class: hops on a number line for multiples, tiles in equal rows for factor pairs, every rectangle a number of tiles can make, a number chart for common multiples, and the lockers. A used hint caps that problem at 5 points.

Mistakes it catches

Adding or subtracting instead of multiplying, being one hop off, thinking a number ending in 6 must be a multiple of 6, counting turnarounds twice, calling every odd number prime, calling 1 prime, multiplying two numbers when a smaller common multiple comes first, and mixing up which number is the factor and which is the multiple.

Numbers

Everything stays within 100, as in the unit. The Locker Problem uses 20 lockers.

Learn it first

Each station matches a chapter of the Learn page for this unit, which walks through the ideas step by step.

Not covered

Multiplication Practice (Lesson 4) and Mondrian’s Art (Lesson 8) are optional lessons, so there are no stations for them.
