Run the food truck! Ring up orders, drop the decimal point in the right place, weigh the produce, split the bill, and pour the drinks. Each station matches lessons from class. New to this? Learn it first →
Each station deals 8 fresh problems (Dinner Rush deals 10). A right answer on the first try earns 10 points. After a wrong answer, the game names the likely mistake and gives one more try for 5 points.
The numbers are picked so the arithmetic is mental math: basic facts, friendly prices, and at most one regroup. The challenge is the idea: lining up decimal points, placing the point in a product, and scaling a division.
Hints use the tools from class: base-ten diagrams, work lined up by the decimal point, area diagrams, partial quotients, and multiplying both numbers in a division by 10 or 100. A used hint caps that problem at 5 points.
Lining up the last digits instead of the decimal points, forgetting to regroup, subtracting the smaller digit from the bigger one, a misplaced decimal point in a product, reading “4 remainder 2” as 4.2, and scaling only one number in a division.
Lesson 15 (Making and Measuring Boxes) is a hands-on project, so it works better in class than as scored problems.
